PURPOSE:To prevent focus from being largely deviated and to realize aimed photographing by providing a means for discriminating whether range-finding to a subject is possible or not and a means for estimating that a person is photographed. CONSTITUTION:When releasing operation is started, a control circuit 11 reads in range-finding data from range-finding parts 14 and 15, and discriminates whether or not the the data is effective or not. The estimating means estimates whether person is photographed. In the case of discriminating based on the result of range-finding that the range-finding is possible, a distance selection means selects the range-finding data. In the case of discriminating that the range-finding is impossible and the person is photographed, the 1st specified distance data is selected. In the case of not discriminating that the range-finding is impossible and the person is photographed, the 2nd specified distance is selected. A lens driving means 18 drives a lens to a focusing position based on the selected distance data. |
