A method for producing a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin molded article (56) laminated with a skin material (50) comprises the steps of: providing a mold assembly including a first mold (12) and a second mold (14; preheating a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin sheet (52); preheating a skin material (50); supplying the preheated sheet (52) and skin material (50) to between the molds; drawing the preheated skin material (50) under reduced pressure so as to bring the skin material (50) into close contact with a cavity face (30) of the second mold (17); and moving the molds (12,14) so as to attain a closed state thereby laminating the sheet (52) and skin (50) material together.
