PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the optical communication system in which an optical signal reception level at a master station is selected to be a proper level to set a large allowable margin. SOLUTION: A master station A receives an optical signal sent from a prescribed slave station Bi among slave stations B1 -Bn to detect the presence of a reception error and an optical signal including detected error information is sent to the slave station Bi via an optical transmission line 2B connected by a star coupler 1B. Furthermore, the prescribed slave station Bi receives an optical signal sent from the master station A via an optical transmission line 2A connected by a star coupler 1A to detect error information included in the received optical signal and to control a level of the optical signal to be sent to the master station a based on the detected error information. According to the procedure above, the optical signal sent from the slave station Bi is received by the master station A at an optimum level. |
