Method of manufacture of a master disk for producing dies for optical discs carrying a marking, in particular anti-piracy, master disk, die, and the resulting optical disk

Manufacturing a master optical disk used to produce optical disk pressing dies, comprises: (i) placing a photosensitive resin-coated support (1) on a master disk recording machine turntable (3); (ii) forming a marking (especially an anti-pirating marking) by providing, between the turntable (3) and the resin-coated support (1), a layer (7) consisting of zones (8a, 8b) of materials having different reflectivities for the wavelengths of the light beam (4); (iii) recording information as a latent image in the resin layer (2) with a light beam (4); and (iv) removing the exposed resin zones (5) to leave a succession of micro-pits (6) representing the information to be duplicated. Also claimed are: (a) a master disk with a marking formed by the above method; (b) a process for manufacturing an optical disk pressing die having a marking formed as above; (c) an optical disk pressing die with a marking formed by the above process or from the above master disk; and (d) a process for manufacturing optical disks having a marking obtained as above.
