A voice prosthesis to be mounted in a fistula between trachea and esophagus comprises a spool-shaped element (10) with a through passage (11) and a valve mechanism (15, 18) controlling the connection through said passage and having sealing surfaces which can be pressed against each other, means (20) being provided to produce a magnet force acting between the sealing surfaces to keep said surfaces pressed against each other in the closed position of the valve mechanism.
