The regulator (2) controls the gas supply to burners (5), which are arranged in a chamber below a continuous heat-conducting surface such as glass or glazed ceramic. The burner plates are preferably magnetically controlled, and contain interchangeable nozzles for different types of gas. Ignition, safety and temperature controls (7) for the burners are contained in a chamber at the edge of the burner chamber and are connected by gastight pipes to the burners. The regulators deliver a constant working pressure of at least 2.5, but preferably 7 mbar, from an inlet pressure varying between 8 and 100 mbar. The air supply to the burner chamber is regulated by baffles, which reduce the cross-sectional areas at the inlets to the gastight pipes, to as little as 15% of the normal cross-sectional area. Additional holes or perforations can be formed in the burner plate and air can be supplied by fan. All supply and regulating units can be combined into a single assembly on a common support plate.
|
