An agricultural harvesting machine (1) comprises: a threshing and separating mechanism (5, 6) for threshing and separating crop material; and cleaning means (9) for cleaning the threshed and separated crop material, the cleaning means comprising: grain pan means (37) for receiving threshed and/or separated crop material and transporting the latter rearwardly; and upper (34) and lower sieves (35) installed behind said grain pan means (37) and operable to receive the material from said grain pan means (37) and move it therethrough and/or therealong. At least one portion (81) of said grain pan means is inclined in a sideways direction for sideways movement of said threshed and separated crop material while it is being transported rearwardly towards said sieve means. This inclination spreads out the surplus of crop material supplied to one longitudinal section of the grain pan means (37) and delivers it in an even pattern to the front section of the upper sieve (34). <IMAGE>
