CONSTITUTION:A CPU 410 starts operation of a charger 1 and a static- eliminator lamp 161 at the press of a starting key 171, and also outputs a control signal to a driving circuit 411 to rotate a photoconductor at a second speed of rotation. A period of time T after the onset of charging, the speed of rotation is switched to the first speed of rotation S1. The driving circuit 411 is a circuit that outputs a pulse width modulation signal for driving a photoconductor driving motor 31, and varies the width of a pulse output to vary the speed of rotation of the photoconductor driving motor 31, thereby allowing the speed of rotation of the photoconductor 10 to vary. The time T is preset to that required for the photoconductor to make at least one complete rotation at the second speed of rotation S2. |
