PURPOSE:To improve measuring accuracy by subtracting the integrated discharge quantity of electricity of a battery from full charge, obtaining the integrated residual capacity, obtaining the volt-ampere characteristic of the battery in high-rate discharging, obtaining the residual capacity at the time of a high load, and correcting the integrated residual capacity. CONSTITUTION:In a residual capacity meter 10, the current of a battery 12 is detected with a current sensor 34, the current is integrated and the integrated discharged electric quantity is obtained. This quantity is subtracted from the full charge of the battery 12, and the integrated residual capacity is obtained. Meanwhile, in the capacity meter 10, the voltage of the battery 12 is detected with a voltage sensor 36, and the volt-ampere characteristic is obtained. The characteristic has the excellent correlation with the residual capacity of the battery 12 at the high-rate discharging of the battery 12. Therefore, the residual capacity at the high load is obtained based on this characteristic. The integrated residual capacity is corrected on the basis of the residual capacit at the high load. The corrected integrated capacity is displayed on a display device 14. |
