The actuator has an expandable material (3) in a closed case. A tappet (6) in the form of a bushing has a base (9) which points away from the inside of the case (1) of the actuator. A rod is inserted into an insert (4) made of elastically deformable material and is enclosed by the tappet. The rod acts as a sliding surface for the tappet.
