The tractor vehicle has a lifting and clamping arrangement for the aircraft's nose wheel mechanism mounted in a rearward opening U-section of the frame of the tractor vehicle with a lifting and lowering element (7) for the nose wheel, two longitudinally movable thrust blocks (9) that can pivot away to allow entry of the nose wheel into the U-section and a guide arrangement. The guide arrangement has a gearbox-like connection (29,31) between the thrust blocks and the guide rail (15).
