PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vibration-damping member which can be applied by a very simple process and can damp the vibration of a construction by providing a vibration-damping member which joins the outer wall of a construction to a structural member and prepared by curing a modified silicone composition. SOLUTION: The modified silicone composition used is a curable composition comprising a modified silicone polymer with a main chain based on a polyoxyalkylene and terminated with a crosslinkable hydrolyzable silyl group, a curing catalyst, and optional additives such as a cure promoter, a tackifier, a dehydrating agent, a filler, a plasticizer, and an antioxidant. The modified silicone polymer can be obtained by reacting an allyl-terminated polyoxyalkylene with a silicon hydride compound represented by the formula: Z3-aSiH-Ra (wherein R is a hydrocarbon group, or a halohydrocarbon group; Z is a halogen, an alkoxyl, an acyloxy, or a ketoximate group; and a is 0, 1, or 2) in the presence of a group VIII transition metal.
