PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a molded product which has a surface exhibiting high hydrophilicity and is excellent in smoothness of the surface and transparency. SOLUTION: A photopolymerizable resin composition (A) comprising as indispensable ingredients (a) a compound polymerizable by active rays and a photopolymerization initiator is shaped. The obtained uncured shaped matter is immersed, without contact with a gaseous phase, in a liquid hydrophilic layer-forming material (B) containing a hydrophilic compound (b) copolymerizable with the compound (a) but not containing a photopolymerization initiator and is irradiated as it is with active rays thereby to effect curing of the uncured shaped matter and copolymerization of the compound (a) with a part of the compound (b) at an interface between the uncured shaped matter and the hydrophilic layer-forming material.
