PURPOSE:To prevent the damage due to a short-circuit in an ink jet head detecting the short-circuit of a piezoelectric element to control a power supply switch. CONSTITUTION:An ink jet head wherein voltage is applied to at least one piezoelectric element 9 to inject ink particles from the corresponding nozzle 10 by the electrostriction of the piezoelectric element 9 is equipped with a switching means 25 operated in order to apply voltage to the piezoelectric element 9, a detection means 16 detecting the voltage applied to the piezoelectric element 9 and a cut-off means 17 cutting off the switching means on the basis of the detection result of the detection means 16. |
