PURPOSE:To shorten the manufacturing term and to reduce the manufacturing cost by simplifying the arranging structure of refractories, such as monolithic refractory, base member, arranged in a metal case, in a side weir of a twin roll type continuous casting apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The Al2O3-SiO2-C base monolithic refractory 11 containing 40-80wt.% aluminum clinker, 10-50wt.% silicon carbide, 5-10wt.% carbonaceous material and the balance ultra pulverized alumina, pulverized silica, alumina cement as hardener, dispersant and having high spalling resistance of >=4kcal/ m.h. deg.C thermal conductivity and the base member 12 integrally formed by pouring the monolithic refractory into a mold frame to obtain high suitability in the case of integrally forming the base member 12 of the side weir 9, are used. |
