PURPOSE: A method for constructing a database for search engines is provided to offer a method for constructing a database for search engines integrating and classifying bookmark information made out by a user so as to be used in a search engine. CONSTITUTION: A database server collects individual bookmark lists from subscribers(S10). The server converts the classification items of the individual bookmark lists in accordance with preset standardized classification items(S20). The server judges whether the whole individual classification items have been converted into standardized classification items(S30). If the whole individual classification items have been converted into standardized classification items, the server judges whether a relevant classification item exists in an integrated bookmark list(S40). If the relevant classification item exists in the integrated bookmark list, the server judges whether an identical bookmark information exists in the relevant classification item(S60). If there is an identical bookmark information in the relevant classification, the server increases the frequency of the bookmark information by 1(S70). If there is no identical bookmark information, the server records the bookmark information in the relevant classification item(S80).
