The antenna system includes two antennas (E,M), the first (E) being primarily electrically active and the second (M) being primarily magnetically active. The first antenna and the second antenna are polarization decoupled. The antennas are located within a typical near field, specifically no more than 12.5 cm apart. The second antenna may be screened by a conductive and nonmagnetic material, without creating a ring current. The second antenna may include a small loop (2) of diameter less than 0.8 cm.
