IC CARD, PORTABLE TELEPHONE TERMINAL, AND POINT UP SYSTEM USING THEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a point system of high usefulness which can set plural point addition rules and is flexibly and finely operated to meet various tastes and needs of customers or cope with a sales promotion plan on the shop side or the like and effectively utilizes development of the communication infrastructure of the Internet or mobile data communication. SOLUTION: This system is provided with an IC card and a card reader/ writer device to store points. The IC card is provided with a point summing-up means which receives transaction contents information indicating the amount of money for purchase or the like and point addition information discriminating a point addition rule including a control flag from the card reader/writer device and calculates the total number of accumulated points in accordance with the point addition rule designated by the point addition information on the basis of the transaction contents information. The card reader/writer device transmits the transaction contents information and the point addition information to the IC card when a user presents the IC card for purchase.
