PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform data reading/data rewriting processing between an image forming device body and a device unit without using a CPU having a high processing speed. SOLUTION: When an OUT signal 211 is received from an engine control section 202, a cartridge memory control section 209 returns a signal reception confirmation by an IN signal 212 and stops the communication with the engine control section 202 by making a BUSY signal 212 'true' and thereafter performs reading out/writing of data of a non-volatile memory 208 and sends the read data to the engine control section 202. The reading/writing state of the data from or to the non-volatile memory 208 may therefore be discriminated simply by detecting the state of the BUSY signal 212 and consequently the engine control section 202 may be devoted entirely to image forming operation and the cartridge memory control section 209 is not required to perform parallel processing of the serial communication processing with the engine control section 202 and the communication with the non-volatile memory 208. |
