PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide body, and a surface light source device and a liquid crystal display device using it by resolving luminance irregularity and the deterioration of appearance hindering the practical use of print-less light guide technology. SOLUTION: This light guide body 10 is used by forming one surface into a light emission surface 11, by forming frontward emitting light extraction mechanism 16 and by disposing a light source 14 on at least one side end part 12a. In this case, an ear part 20 for fixing the light guide body is formed on a side end part 12b perpendicular to the side end part for disposing the light source, and the light extraction mechanism for preventing the generation of a dark part having a length L 0.5-1.5 times as much as that of the ear part and a thickness W 0.5-7 times as much as that of the light guide body is formed in the vicinity of the ear part.
