The stopper device comprises a U-shaped bracket (40) having a web extending in the cross-direction over the compartment on the inside of the roof. The ends of the bracket arms (41) are pivotally connected to the compartment side walls so that the web can be swung between an upper position and a working lower position where it is level with the bracket bearings (42). The barrier comprises a plate (5) with a slot extending through it for receiving a perspex panel (110). A release device (67) automatically swings the bracket into the working position when the perspex panel is lifted up out of the plate.
