PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording medium, which has a high ink absorbency, which is excellent in color developing properties and the ink accepting layer of which has no 'depression', and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In the ink jet recording medium having the ink accepting layer including an inorganic pigment and a binder on the surface of a base material, the ink accepting layer includes 0.001 to 1.0 mass part of a water-soluble polymeric substance, the 2 mass % of which has a viscosity of 2 to 600 mPa.s, to 100 mass part of the inorganic pigment. |
