<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming material capable of obtaining a large sized DDCP (direct digital color proofing) which suppresses irregular color and is high in quality and excellent in printing coincidence, and to especially provide a thermal transfer sheet and an image forming method. <P>SOLUTION: For the heat transfer sheet having at least a photothermal conversion layer and an image forming layer on a base material, the heat transfer sheet is superimposed on an image receiving sheet having an image receiving layer by opposing the image forming layer to the image receiving layer. When a laser beam irradiated area of the image forming layer is transferred onto the image receiving layer by irradiating the heat transfer sheet with laser beams, particles contained in any layer of the heat transfer sheet are transferred onto the image receiving layer. A particle size of the contained particle is made ≤0.5 μm, and a ratio a/b of a particle size (a) and a layer thickness (b) of the layer having the contained particle is made ≥6 and ≤50. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
