摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communication terminal and its clock control method that reduce power consumption by stopping generating an unnecessary clock in the terminal during intermittent reception irrespective of a cell search. SOLUTION: Once a timer 114 clocks a timer set time, the mobile phone set changes from a non-receiving operation state to a receiving operation state. At this time, the timer 114 controls a clock control circuit 117 with a control signal to select and supply a clock outputted from a multiplication circuit 116 for radio synchronism to a processor 111 and a high-speed peripheral circuit 112, and the timer 114 stops supplying electric power to the multiplication circuit 115 at the same time with a control signal. Consequently, the multiplication circuit 115 is placed in a non-operation state in a receiving operation period to eliminate power consumption, and the clock supplied from the multiplication circuit 116 for radio synchronism to a modem section 102 is supplied to the processor 111 and high-speed peripheral circuit 112 at the same time to realize low power consumption based upon the common use of the clock.
