PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily recognize the content of a news bulletin by displaying a message on a TV screen when the user misses the news bulletin, so as to allow the user to recognize it and to display an image including the news bulletin video-recorded in a hard disk on the TV screen. SOLUTION: When a part which matches a specified sound pattern is detected in a sound signal (YES in S1), the news bulletin is confirmed to allow a hard disk recorder function part to be in a stand-by state (S2). When the part which matches the specified sound pattern is detected again afterward (YES in S3), video recording is started (S4). An effect that the image including the news bulletin is video-recorded is displayed on the screen as the message (S5). When the user depresses a certain key (YES in S6), the video-recorded image including the news bulletin is output to the TV screen (S7).
