PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture communication apparatus which can input destination data by a simple operation, and to provide a method of controlling it, and a program. SOLUTION: If the destination data are inputted from a key for the destination input of an operation unit 10 when a screen is changed into a screen other than the input screen of destination data during the input of the destination data by the operation unit 10, a destination input screen before transition is displayed on a display unit 12. Moreover, a display controller 14 acquires the destination data in the middle of the input from a memory 18, and displays data newly inputted from the operation unit 10 continuously to the destination data in the middle of the input, and displays the data on the display unit 12.
