PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which does not require a need for changing the segment output time for every fluorescent display tube to be used. SOLUTION: The display device has a grid control circuit 15 controlling segments so as to simultaneously light the segments in parallel on a plus side and a minus side at the same time by detecting an amount of thermoelectrons generated by a filament (coil) of the fluorescent display tube 13, applying a regulated voltage to a grid electrode at the timing in which the thermoelectrons stabilize.
