PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a number-of-step measuring instrument corresponding to a plurality of motions while actualizing electricity saving through a simple structure. SOLUTION: A CPU 17 calculates a transfer motion interval based on detection signals from sensors 11 and 12 selected by a switching circuit 13, and further calculates a transfer motion interval by performing a process selected from among a plurality of kinds of processes stored in a memory 18 based on the detection signals from the sensors 11 and 12 selected by the switching circuit 13, When the two motion intervals are different from each other, the CPU 17 selects another process from among the plurality of kinds of processes to calculate transfer motion intervals while performing number-of-step measurement by means of the selected process when the two motion intervals are equal to each other.
