A method and a system for controlling a multi-player online game with a distribution server are provided to reduce a load of a game server by classifying a message generated according to an event among players, selecting targets for receiving the message selectively according to a message type, and transmitting the message to the selected targets. A game server(102) receives an event message related to a game from user clients(108) and processes the event message according to a predetermined game logic. A database server(104) receives state change information including a state change of a player character from the game server and stores the received information to a database. Each real-time message processing server(106) receives a real-time message among the event messages related to the game from the user clients, determines other user clients for receiving the real-time message, and transmits the real-time message to the determined other user clients. The real-time message processing server includes a player object generated for the connected user client and transceiving the real-time message with the connected user client, a transmission target determiner, and an online player character information manager managing location information of the player character. |
