PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a panel parting method capable of reducing the intallation space of a device even when a glass size is upsized, thereby reducing the cost and size of the device, and to provide the device thereof. SOLUTION: The panel parting device comprises: a vertical scribe treatment part where, in a state where a rectangular panel 2 made of a glass substrate is stood, vertical cut lines 3 in the upper and lower directions are formed on the surface thereof to the right and left directions at a prescribed pitch; a horizontal scribe treatment part where horizontal cut lines 10 in the right and left directions are formed on the surface of the panel 2; and a parting part where the panel 2 in a direction lower than the horizontal cut lines 10 is parted.
