PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that facilitates the setting of the contact area/contact pressure of a paper powder removal member relative to a belt that is a major control factor to the function of a sheet-like paper powder removal member that passes a sheet while stopping paper powder. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a cleaning blade 16 that cleans off residual transfer toner sticking to an endless image carrier, a roller-like image carrier or the endless conveyance belt for transfer recording paper and toner soiling the base thereof. The image forming apparatus has the conductive sheet-like paper powder removal member 17 disposed in the upstream of the cleaning blade 16 so as to be contact with the surface of a member to be cleaned.
