Medicament comprising a highly potent long-lasting beta2-agonist in combination with a corticosteroid

The disclosure relates to the use of a bronchodilator in combination with one or more further active ingredients for the treatment of respiratory disorders and especially asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and to pharmaceutical compositions containing said active ingredients. In particular, the disclosure relates to the use of (a) a long-acting beta2-agonist 8-hydroxy-5-[(1R)-1-hydroxy-2-[[(1R)-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1methylethyl]amino]ethyl-2(1H)-quinolinone (compound A) and/or physiologically acceptable salts and/or solvates thereof as a bronchodilator and (b) budesonide or an epimer thereof in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of an inflammatory or obstructive airways disease, wherein compound (A) is in the range of from 1 microgram to 2 micrograms per unit dose and the ratio by weight between compound (A) and budesonide or epimer thereof is from 1:1000 to 1:50, and wherein the medicament is formulated for separate, simultaneous or sequential administration of (a) and (b).
