PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for specifying a DNA marker capable of discriminating a new potato variety in which the information on DNA marker usable for the variety discrimination is unknown from known potato varieties, and easily and quickly discriminating many kinds of potato varieties including these potatoes. SOLUTION: The invention provides a potato variety discrimination primer set composed of a specific oligonucleotide pair selected from the oligonucleotides of potato, and a potato variety discrimination method including the PCR amplification by using the primer set and using a DNA obtained from a specimen as a template and the detection of the amplification product.
