<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quality of liquid crystal display by certainly bringing a liquid crystal panel into contact with a diffusion board for the backlight illumination with a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display comprises the liquid crystal panel 12, a light source 20 for illumination for irradiating the liquid crystal panel 12 with light from the back side, a circuit board 16 mounted with the light source 20 for illumination, and a light box 14 for supporting the liquid crystal panel 12 on the circuit board 16. The light box 14 has a box main body 22, a light diffusion section 24 having a contact surface 25 capable of coming into contact with the back surface of the liquid crystal panel 12, and a panel holding section 26 for holding the liquid crystal panel 12 at the position coming into contact with the contact surface 25. These box main body 22, the light diffusion section 24, and the panel holding section 26 are integrally molded of material having a function of making light penetrate while diffusing the light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
