PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alloy foil for a catalyst carrier in which the increasing amount of oxidization and deformation volume at high temperature are reduced compared with the conventional Fe-20Cr-5Al series alloy, and to provide a catalyst carrier for an exhaust gas purifying apparatus using the alloy foil. SOLUTION: The alloy foil has a componential composition including, by mass,≤0.015%C,≤0.3% Si,≤0.2% Mn,≤0.05% P,≤0.003% S,≤0.015% N, 19.0 to 21.0% Cr, 4.6 to 7.0% Al, 0.03 to 0.20% La, one or two kinds selected from Zr and Hf by 0.02 to 0.15% in total and 1.5 to 3.5% W, and further including <0.15% Nb, <0.20% Mo, <0.5% Ta, <0.20% Ni and <0.10% Ti.
