DEVELOPING ROLLER AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, DEVELOPING DEVICE, PROCESS CARTRIDGE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a developing roller having a margin to the lowering of conveying amount caused by aging of the surface of sleeve base material, capable of suppressing the lowering of the conveying amount caused by deterioration (wear) of developer 1 and preventing unevenness of an image; a process cartridge; an image forming apparatus having the process cartridge; and a method of manufacturing the developing roller. SOLUTION: The developing roller has a magnet roller and a developing sleeve including the magnet roller and also attracting magnetic particles on its outer surface by magnetic force of the magnet roller. In the developing roller, a wear-resistant layer composed of material harder than a material composing the sleeve base material is provided on the outer surface of the sleeve base material in the developing sleeve, and also elliptical recesses are provided at random on the wear-resistant layer.
