PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a precise imaging timing correction table corresponding an actual load of a photoreceptor drum, and to precisely correct rotational speed fluctuation irregularity in an actual operation thereof. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus is provided with: an image forming part 80 for transferring an image formed based on a reference signal index signal to a paper sheet P; a paper sheet conveying part 20 for passing the paper sheet P through the image forming part 80; a speed detecting part 58 for measuring a speed fluctuation distribution in a drum one-cycle period, by detecting a rotational speed of the photoreceptor drum 1 under the condition where sheet-passed by the paper sheet conveying part 20, and the load is applied by passing the paper sheet, and a CPU 55 for obtaining, in every block, a correction value correlated with the speed fluctuation distribution in the drum one-cycle period measured by the speed detecting part 58 to correct a reference period of the reference signal index signal, and for preparing the associated imaging timing correction table.
