A display device and a display method thereof are disclosed. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the display device comprises: a display unit configured to display an input UI including a plurality of character items which are arranged in series; an input unit configured to receive a user command; and a control unit configured to control the display unit to display an extension UI including at least one character item around a selected character item when the user command for selecting one of the plurality of character items is inputted through the input unit. Therefore, the display device enables a user to easily input a text by using a small space without interrupting display of content.
