PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent conveyance speed from being changed at the tip and the rear end of a recording medium, in a nip area.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: an image holding body which holds an image; a transfer body which conveys the recording medium held in a nip area with the image holding body, to transfer the image to the recording medium; and a conveyance member which is arranged closest to the nip area on the upstream side of the nip area in a conveyance direction, and conveys the recording medium to the nip area with a conveyance force smaller than that formed by the image holding body and the transfer body and at a conveyance speed equal to or lower than the recording medium conveyance speed of the image holding body and the transfer body. |
