PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the damage of a component which switches on and off the connection between an electric motor and a power source or other mechanisms in advance even when an excessive force is caused by a hand guard in an oscillation direction.SOLUTION: A chain saw includes: a driving shaft which drives a saw chain; an electric motor which provides a rotation force to the driving shaft; and a body housing 1 which incorporates the electric motor; a handle 21 provided at the housing 1; a hand guard 30 which is disposed near the handle 21 and is supported at the housing 1 by an oscillation shaft so as to oscillate; a switch which flows a current into the motor in a first state that an external force is not applied to the hand guard 30 and stops flowing the current into the motor in a second state that the hand guard 30 oscillates; and a stopper 7 which restricts an oscillation range of the hand guard 30. |
