PURPOSE:To attain highly efficient dictionary registration and to prevent the generation of a miss by converting reading expressed by KANA (Japanese syllabary) into Roman character and using the Roman character for translation as translation words. CONSTITUTION:A morpheme analysis part 13a executes morpheme analysis for an inputted sentence to be translated and then a syntax analysis part 13b analyzes connection relation among words in the sentence and judges whether a proper noun exists in the sentence or not. At the time of judging the existence of a proper noun, a conversion part 13c refers to a proper noun dictionary 14b and obtains reading information of the word judged as the proper noun corresponding to notation. Then the reading is collated with a KANA/Roman character conversion table 14c and a character string whose reading is expressed by Roman character is obtained. The character string is provided as a translation word for the proper word. |
