A cutting tool comprises a shank 12 having an end portion formed to provide a shouldered seat 16 for receiving a cutting insert 18 having a central hole 50, a cranked pin 26 located in an angled bore 36, 38 in the seat, one end 48 of the pin extending into the hole 50 in the insert and means 30, 28 for tilting the pin 26 to urge the insert into clamping engagement with the shoulder of the insert seat. The elbow portion 46 of the pin engages the wall of the bore 38 to effect the tilting clamping action of the pin. A shim 20 may be positioned beneath the insert and a chip breaker 22 may also be provided. |
