In a bearing arrangement for rolls 18 and 20, the roll 18 is supported by a shaft 16, the ends of which are each mounted in bearings 12, 13 and the roll 20 is supported by a shaft 17, the ends of which are each mounted in bearings 14, 15. Each bearing 12 is urged by a spring 21, each pair of bearings 13, 14 have a wedge 23 positioned therebetween, and each bearing 15 may be supported on a block 22. Play in the bearings is eliminated by means of the combined effects of the springs 21 and the wedges 23, the latter also serving to effect adjustment of the spacing between the rolls. The roll 18 is provided with knives 19 for cutting sheet material. |
