Welding of strips from one piece of synthetic material. The apparatus comprises a feeding device, a conveyor belt which acts as a pressing support and a welding ram. The speed of the conveyor belt is greater than that at which the metal strip is carried through the feeding device to the press. The press can be moved around an axis at right angles to the path of the strip and has two work surfaces. These working surfaces can be brought into action by tilting the press.
