PURPOSE:To adjust the assist gas blowing position to the laser beam irradiation point irrespective of the movement of a shield box by independently mounting an assist gas nozzle and the shield box on a welding head 2. CONSTITUTION:An assist gas nozzle 4 is held on an X'-axis, Y'-axis, and Z'-axis adjusting mechanism 5 which is mounted In a projecting manner on a horizontal arm which is provided on the rear end of the lower part of a welding head 2 interlocked with the laser beam 1. The welding head 2 is loaded on a measuring table together with a shield box 3, the welding head 2 is moved in the X-axis and Y-axis direction to move the assist gas nozzle 4, and the laser beam irradiation point is aligned to the assist gas blowing position. Then, the whole device is removed from the measuring table and set on a work. A weld zone by the laser beam welding which is the deep penetration welding and free from porosity is obtained. |
