PURPOSE:To enhance driving power and efficiency by a structure wherein an elastic body has a plurality of joint faces and at least one joint face intersects a driving face at an acute or obtuse angle or extends in parallel with different width. CONSTITUTION:The stator 1 of an ultrasonic actuator comprises an elastic body 11 and a piezoelectric 12 comprising five groups of piezoelectrics 12-1, 12-2, 12-3, 12-4, 12-5 being excited by a driving signal. The elastic body 11 has triangular cross-section defined by two linear parts and two arched parts. Five groups of piezoelectrics 12-1, 12-2, 12-3, 12-4, 12-5 are coupled, respectively, with five planes 11b, 11c, 11d, 11e, 11f among six planes 11a-11f at the linear part except one driving plane 11a so that the oscillation of each piezoelectric body 12 produces a traveling wave on the driving plane. This structure increases the joint area for fixed volume of elastic body to enhance oscillation of the elastic body thus enhancing the driving power and efficiency. |
