1,217,272. Amino-pyrimidines. J. R. GEIGY A.G. 8 Jan., 1968 [9 Jan., 1967], No. 1102/68. Heading C2C. [Also in Divisions C4-C5] The preparation of 2,4,6-triamino-pyrimidines, used as coupling components in the preparation of azo dyes (see Divisions C4-C5), is described. The compounds are prepared by successive condensation of 2,4,6-trihalo-pyrimidines with ammonia or primary or secondary amines, which may be cyclic or have phosphorus-containing substituents. One of the reactants may be a diamine or hydrazine. In Example 40, aniline is condensed with 2,4,6- trichloro-pyrimidine to give a mixture of 2,6- dichloro - 4 - phenylamino - pyrimidine and 4,6 - dichloro - 2 - phenylamino - pyrimidine from which the first isomer is separated chromatographically and reacted with ethylamine to give 2,6 - bis - ethylamino - 4 - phenylaminopyrimidine. Many further examples are given. |
