A rectangular bed frame B is mounted for longitudinal or transverse tilting, on a stand A, by a universal joint at each of the corners. The joints are each held together by a retractable slide 15, which, when withdrawn outwardly, enables the cruciform journal member (11), 13 to be lifted off the bearing members 14, for the journals 13. Any adjacent pair of slides 15 may be withdrawn so that, on operating pump 18 to deliver liquid to ram V, the central thrust, delivered through toggle links 21, 22, 31 and 32, tilts the frame B about the opposite pair of joints. The links 21, 22, 31 and 32 are connected to universal joints 23, 28, 33 and 34. A form in which the frame B supports a dentist's chair and the ram V can be replaced by a screw mechanism, is referred to. |
