PURPOSE:To provide an image forming device capable of maintaining the the density of an image with respect to temperature and humidity without generating fogging and the scattering of toner and the image density maintaining method of the image forming device. CONSTITUTION:The image forming device is provided with a developing sleeve, a main motor driving a drum via a transmission body, a cocked belt 5 extended over the transmission body and the main motor, a belt receiving part 6 receiving driving force from the main motor, a pulley 9 having a rotary shaft 7 transmitting the driving force from the main motor and a V-shaped groove 8, a V-belt 11 fitted into the V-shaped groove 8 and extended over the side of the rotary shaft 7 and the transmission body of the developing sleeve. V-belt receivers 12 and 13 forming the V-shaped groove 8 and extendable/contractable members 14a, 14b and (14c) in an X axial direction in accordance with the variations in the temperature and humidity, to vary a width W. |
