The price of a blend of two liquids may be adjusted, upwards or downwards, from the sum of the component parts. A blend control 32 acts via 38 on a pressure valve to adjust the ratios of high and low octane petrol fed by pumps 6, 8. Meters 10, 12 feed an adding mechanism 26 to indicate the total volume at 30. At the same time 10, 12 feed cost variators 14, 16 set according to the unit cost of the two petrols. The outputs of the variators are fed to adding mechanism 48 and so to total cost indicator 50, but an adjustment is made at 44 to one input by a friction disc mechanism 40 driven according to the blend selected at 32 and the volume entered from 26. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown), the blend valve is adjusted by a handle which also moves the price adjuster by means of a disc (138) with removable pegs (142) for engagement with a gear (144).</p> |
